Trauma-Informed Care Roundtable On April 15, 2016

22 April 2016

The Center on Law, Inequality & Metropolitan Equity (CLiME) was proud to host the Trauma-Informed Care Roundtable on April 15th, 2016 at the Rutgers School of Law-Newark, co-sponsored with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.

CLiME Director David Troutt and Assistant Attorney General Wanda Moore served as the facilitators for three panels on the following topics: Understanding Trauma in Adults and Children, Understanding Trauma-Informed Care Practices in Action, and Understanding the Capacity to Provide Trauma-Informed Care.

Speakers included Dr. Bonita Beysey of the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice, Dr. Susan Cohen Esquilin, Rebecca Bryan of the UrbanPromise Wellness Center, Dan Rhoton of Hopeworks Camden, Dr. Sandy Gibson of the The College of New Jersey, Martha Cook Davidson of the Trenton Health Team, and Joshua Durand of Children’s Mobile Response.

This was the first in a series of ongoing meetings that CLiME plans to host as part of our Trauma, Schools and Poverty Project.  Collaborating with other trauma practitioners, we are working to redefine equity and trauma in order to operationalize the definition of trauma, so that we can work to create tools for organizing solutions.
