Derrick Neves

Derrick Neves is a third-year law student at Rutgers Law School - Newark. Derrick earned his undergraduate degree in criminal justice at Rutgers University-Newark. He is currently an Eagleton Graduate Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, a Clinical Law Student at the Rutgers Criminal and Youth Justice Clinic, Michael J. Sullivan Defender Fellow at the Rutgers Center on Criminal Justice, Youth Rights, and Race, and a member of the National Appellate Advocacy Team. He has interned at Center for Constitutional Rights, LatinoJustice PRLDEF, and Volunteer Lawyers for Justice. He was also a Research Assistant at the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey. He hopes to pursue a career in civil rights and social justice to ultimately protect the civil rights of marginalized groups. In his free time, he enjoys long distance running, soccer, and playing the piano.
